Using the pool at Brune Park School, we offer lessons for children from 4 years old.

The lessons are based on the National Teaching Plan in accordance with Swim England guidelines. The club follows the "Long Term Athlete Development" program. Learning to swim is step one on the "Swimmer Pathway" and incorporates the FUNdamentals, enabling children the opportunity to discover movement in the water with a full range of swimming techniques and aquatic skills.

Our lessons are taught by qualified teachers with the help of our older Dolphins swimmers in the water to grow the confidence of our smaller swimmers.

Children are grouped by ability (Stages 1-4), which is assessed at their free trial session and on a regular basis throughout their lessons.

Non swimmers will begin at stage 1 and progress at their own pace. 

Children who regularly swim or are moving from another club or learn to swim lessons will be placed in the appropriate group for their ability.

Progression to stages 5, 6 & 7 will happen quite naturally as the children gain confidence and ability.

Once they have reached the required skill levels they will be able to move up into our Training Squads.
